Cuba - Cayo Largo

This big sail area  south of Cuba is very nice large, unspoiled azure blue water. Enjoy the white islands, warm water, coral reefs without tourism. This is unique for the Caribbean waters.
Sailing area is 350 miles east to west and 150 miles north-south. A huge area, with a depth of only between 3 - 4 m. This makes the area pleasant to sail in small, friendly waves, although the trade winds blow in usual 10 to 15 meters per second. The water varies from azure, emerald green and white milk colours. The explanation is the low water depth and light hiking between salt water and the world's whitest coral sand.
Sailing -and you experience the Caribbean as it once was before it was exploited by tourism. Today, there are two civilized places in this white korallhav among reefs and islands. Cayo Largo is located in the east, due south of the infamous Bay of Pigs. It was here that the CIA equipped exiled Cubans came ashore in April 1961, with the goal of overthrowing Castro.

Cuba is located at the entrance to the gulf of Mexico. Its nearest neighbors are Haiti to the east, the Yucatan Peninsula (Mexico) to the west, Florida (United States) to the north and Jamaica to the south.
